I too was skeptical of this. My thinking is the idea of water and oil in cooking is that the water will evaporate and leave the oil but since the water is taking up most of the solution you are left with very little coverage of the actual "non-stick" element. This was bound to fail...but...I found this from the TLC network that seems to make much more sense in DIY spray cooking oil. http://tlc.howstuffworks.com/family/make-your-own-cooking-spray.htm
